Trophy Incursion Contest

We are holding an incursion-writing contest for the Trophy roleplaying game! To enter, you should write an incursion (scenario) for Trophy of no more than 3000 words, following the guidelines from the Trophy core rules, which can be found in Codex - Dark 2. Entries need to be sent t0 [email protected] by 11:59 PM Eastern on October 6th, 2019. 

Details:

• Codex - Dark 2 is currently available for FREE on our website. You can find the core rules for Trophy, including guidelines for writing an incursion, in that issue of the magazine. Click here to download it.
• Your incursion can take place in the default Trophy environment of a forest, or it can take place in a different environment. Additionally, your incursion can be in the default dark fantasy setting or you can drift it into an entirely different setting (modern day, historical, cyberpunk, etc.). If you choose to write outside of dark fantasy, you should also include a set of Occupations, Backgrounds, and Drives that hew more closely to your chosen setting. 
• Entries will be judged on creativity, writing quality, and how closely they match your chosen theme word. The entries will also be judged on how effectively they adhere to the 5-ring incursion structure. 
• Entries will be judged blind, meaning the judges won’t know the names of the authors when judging. 
• Entries should be submitted as a link to a Google Doc. The Google Doc should be 11-pt., Arial, no special formatting (bold and italics are fine). Please do not include your name anywhere on the Google Doc. 
• Entries should be no more than 3000 words. 
• Entries should be sent t0 [email protected] by 11:59 PM Eastern on October 6th, 2019. Subject line: TROPHY CONTEST
• The winner and runners-up will be announced during Gauntlet Con 2019.

Prizes:

• Everyone who submits an entry will receive a pair of custom dark dice with the Trophy logo plus a “Play to Lose” magnet. Joke entries or non-substantive entries that were clearly submitted solely for the purpose of getting this prize will be ignored. Please note: folks outside the U.S. have to pay shipping if they want this prize. 
• 1 winner will receive $200 USD. 
• 2 runners-up will receive $50 USD each. 

Publication and text ownership:

• Entrants own their text and are free to publish it wherever they wish. 
• If we make publishing offers to any entrant, we will pay them the normal Codex rate (.06 USD per word). If the winner or a runner-up receives a publishing offer, we will pay the Codex rate in addition to their prize.
