I had never heard of this, but looking at the name "Nuromen", I was kind of wondering if it might have been intended as an anagram of "Númenor" so when the tolkienesque elements came up, that was probable "yup".

Thanks for the interesting dissection - you both hit on what BLUEHOLME™ is spawned from. It's not trying to be cool or clever (but please feel free to say it is!), it's trying to capture Dr Eric J. Holmes's quirky, easy-going, and fun-centric approach to gaming which was in a way a counterpoint to the rising "officialdom" of the AD&D to come.

As for the Tolkienesque elements, I suspect it's down to my upbringing on Wagner and the Ring Saga (the German one, not Tolkien's). As Tolkien was inspired by the same thing, I guess the comparison is inevitable.

That revelation, I fear, will have to wait until I publish parts 2 and 3 of the adventure ... ;-)

Given current renovation woes don't expect anything on that front until 2022!

I have to admit I'm a bigger fan of Tolkien's than of Wagner's. You probably know it has a bit of a bad rep where I live.But I guess you can't blame the artist for their fans.
