Hello black-dragon-fearing folks! Gerrit Reininghaus pointed me to this episode of your podcast, and even if I'm not that much into podcasts, I had a lot of fun with it. Guess I'm a bit flattered having my very first published adventure module reviewed in depth 32 years after it was published ;-)
Two remarks, however:
Dexter Nemrod was never my PC, he was invented for that scenario and became one of the most notorious "friends" and helpful NPCs you could have he later on became head of the KGIA, the Imperial Secret Service. And yes, I portrayed him on some occasions over the years in DSA larping and freeform events.
That the fight after the manor comes as a deus ex machina is due to the fact that the module was heavily edited - that is: shortened because the modules in the publication yer were set to have a drastically limited word count, and so neither the stats for the monsters nor Aluris' motivation (nothing fancy: he had the players followed to kill them off so they couldn't indict him) survived.
As for the "Drachenväter" book: It was crowdfunded and then published by "Edition Octopus" in a small print run; I guess there are only second-hand copies around.

Thomas - thanks so much for your clarifications, and I am very glad you enjoyed the podcast.
I was impressed by how well the adventure reinforced the sense that Dexter was a big deal, everyone knew his reputation, etc. So for this to be his debut appearance only makes that more impressive.

Thanks for chiming in Thomas! I don't know how I got it wrong with Dexter and you - somehow I walked away with that impression from the Eskapodcast episode you were interviewed for. Thanks for clarifying! I knew I was gonna get some things wrong because I'm not as steeped in DSA lore as some!
Thanks for clarifying about the fight as well. How was it originally? I would so love to hear more!
Huh, I think I'm lucky to own a copy of Drachenväter - Holger from Fantasy En'counters gave me a copy on my last Germany visit. Such a great book!

This was probably my favorite episode so far. I've wondered about DSA and the history of German ttrpgs. I hope Verena does get to translate Drachenväter. I would certainly read it!
