Officer Solomon Reynes reaches out to a deadly killer, Alek The Tough One connects and "protects" a dirty Bluecoat copper and the Raven Doctor puts on the performance of a lifetime.

Returning from the Fae Queen's Court the characters find that 'time has passed', and that their failure to free Riponum of her curse makes them less than welcome there. Tuca the Commoner has a common sense plan to ensure the curse goes away; something it would be best that Iamon Demonbane didn't know about. Thankfully, he's too busy keeping Modthryth the Loon out of trouble, but not before the villagers begin to whisper 'Witch'. Silver-handed Blacwyn meanwhile broods on his lost daughter and the next steps in his search. Then there is a tinker, an old Fae friend, a royal death & a royal heir, and a bargain over the fate of Spring...

The crew of the USCSS Omestra are woken from hypersleep by a distress signal from Mine Station Durin. Captain Trisk consults 'Mother' and confirms they need to investigate, even when the station claims the signal was sent in error. Engineering Tech Ferro is quick to back him up even though XO Morgan thinks they should just get back on schedule. Science Officer Imani recognises the Weyland-Yutani Survey ship in orbit and looks forward to meeting an old friend. Then there's a worried Colonial Marshall, a ship's ransom in industrial diamonds, chaos and death...and Ferro finally loses it...
