When Kosmos attacks - the heroes assemble! Can they defend City Hall and Mayor West from the onslaught of the giant Robot Menace? Masks: Neighbourhood (Issue 9 - Sister Act) David Walker runs for Gerwyn Walters, Lara Boerth-Dryden, Pawel S., and Will H The Gridlock Guardians confront Beatdown and Sphinx. Dynamic and Bluebird share a moment, Lux and Paladin have sharp words whilst The Grey Ghost has something important to ask Nox. Shame she confessed to murdering in front of one of their main nemesis first. Oh yeah and Sparky can still talk - and they are from the future! Impulse Drive: The Expanse (Session 4 of 4) Alun R. runs for Bodhi, Brandon Brylawski, Jon Grim, and Rob Ruthven We pick up after last session's shock reveal to find the crew still dealing with the relationship fall-out. RaeDawn feels betrayed; Sonia feels uncertain; Felix feels resigned; and Kit...well, Kit feels buffeted. Shattered City (Session 3 of 3) Lowell Francis runs for Chris Newton, Patrick Knowles, and Tyler Lominack The conflict between the cabals comes to a crescendo as the Soldiers Guild, the Nobles Guild, and even the Sixth Guild make moves which the Venture maneuvers to counter and control. Fate of Cthulhu: The Rise of Nyarlathotep (Session 5 of 5) Alun R. runs for Lowell Francis, The Rolistes Podcast, and Will H Cut to the desert 250 miles NE of Khartoum several months after the last Timeline Event; during which time the missing Avery Quinn gets the Glowing Trapezohedron back to the team. Nessa has spent weeks accumulating as much information on a World Heritage Site destined to host the Rise of Nyarlathotep; Rook steps back and forth in time to make sure the SAS will provide some back-up for an 'American cultural attache'; and McFee frets about his missing son's fate while customising a dune buggy. There's cultists, old enemies, a Mask of Nyarlathotep, and then...a portal, one young man with no memory, and another who is of little importance...and an Elder Thing... Offworlders: Dead Planet (Session 4 of 4) Mike Ferdinando runs for Abe Lincoln Jr., Brandon Brylawski, and Jason Zanes Sparks, Thorn, and Sgt. Logan delve into the weird alien installation in search of a means to shut down the alien interdimensional gate that's causing the hyperspace anomaly. And what they find chills them to their core. The conclusion to "Dead Planet." Better the Villain Who Serves You Sam Zimmerman runs for Jon Grim, Leah Libresco Sargeant, Sabine V., and SalamanderJames Better the Villain Who Serves You is a PbtA game of hosts working at a super-powered coffee shop. All of the hosts are ex-villains working as part of a "community reintegration program" spearheaded by the owner of the cafe. Sometimes a superhero got the wrong flavored latte, or sometimes a henchperson lost her job (again). It's up to you to make them feel welcome and try to solve their problems as best you can. My Partner the Ghost Dan Brown runs for Steven Watkins and Will H Private investigator Cole is called to help an old flame, criminology Professor Eva Nelson, solve a murder on her college's campus. He's accompanied, without realizing it, by an old contact at the police department, Forensics Analyst Casey, who was murdered while investigating corruption on the police force. As the two pursue the murder of Archeology Professor Ellen Pace, they become more attuned, and Casey is able to send not just emotions, but images to Cole. Good Society: Lady Susan, P.I. Leandro Pondoc runs for Bethany H., David Schultz, Maria M., and Marleigh Lord Ernest Walnut has been found dead. Flung from a second story window after arranging a family portrait to be painted, he leaves behind a motley collection of suspects, ranging from an apprentice cast aside, a conniving ex-mistress, a beefy but meddling friend and a bumbling illegitimate son. Ugh. The worst. Flotsam (Session 2) Rich Rogers runs for Sam Zimmerman, Steven S., and Steven Watkins Our protagonists are drawn deeper into the coming war on the subterranean streets of Coruscant, while addiction takes a hard bite out of one of them. Gauntlet Hangouts Hearts of Wulin: Mandate of Heaven (Session Zero) David Morrison runs for Maria Mison, Matthew Arcilla, and Steven S. In our Session Zero we create our kingdom - ruled over be the regent General Ai while the Shining Emperor is still in his infancy, the clans plot in the background to enact their own designs. We might our initial characters - Six Finger Lament, the hidden demon trying to thwart his brethren's plots; Xien Ren, serving the Chan clan in their pursuit of peace, and the mighty monster hunter Wei Wang. Fate of Cthulhu: The Rise of Nyarlathotep (Session 2 of 5) Alun R. runs for Bodhi, Lowell Francis, The Rolistes Podcast, and Will H Cut to Cairo, 2020...where Illtyd Aderyn McFee befriends a man of little importance with a big future in 2028, and about whom Nessa al-Ghumari has some serious questions; Agent Rook seeks information from Egyptian Intelligence contacts; and Avery Quinn uses their science-bullshit to get credentials to visit an archaeological dig. There's a plan to protect (or is that kidnap...) a possible innocent (or is that vessel of Nyarlathotep); a busy residential dig site; and an 'occult energy detector'...and then...more acolytes of the Church of Starry Wisdom than anyone was expecting...and a darkness spell... Apologies that the 2nd Act wasn't recorded... Masks: Neighbourhood (Session 8) David Walker runs for Gerwyn Walters, Lara Boerth-Dryden, Pawel S., and Will H Bluebird is missing and the team is not dealing with it well. Dynamic and Paladin are hot on her trail - and come fast face with Bobby 'Tigerman' Ramone. Paladin is forced to confront the Kilgore legacy as Dynamic's confrontation with Beatdown threatens to put the team in the firing line. Whilst The Grey Ghost, haunted by their actions during the Blackout looks to Nox to support her. The problem is that Nox's sister Kitty 'Lux' Barges also wants her support - and is none too pleased with the competition. Oh yeah, and Sparky speaks now - that's kind of cool as well right? Chalice: The Cathedral of Green Donogh runs for Bodhi, David Morrison, and Jon Grim Three knights seek the Holy Grail, but none are pure of heart; Sir Ulfric does not think any worthy and has a burning need to destroy, Sir Vergil is near death and hides a terrible family secret, only Sir Elyan's true love is worthy of his admiration and he is ready to sacrifice his companions in this quest! We also meet Sofia Torres on board the Skylark, the crew's ship, monitoring the ship that was on an approximate approach to the asteroid and which is now definitely slowing down to intercept it...and them. There's some panic on board followed by extra-vehicular repairs; growing concern over the roaches and their numbers; and the tricky problem of setting the asteroid base's reactor to blow up...and then...an argument over who holds off the roaches, and an escape at full thrust...and a dead patron on Ceres... Apocalypse Keys: Season 3 - The Oldest House (Session 2) Jamila R. Nedjadi runs for Darold Ross, Eli S., Joel N., and Leandro Pondoc Laylah falters for a moment as a strange memory resurfaces, Vana allows a moment of vulnerability for the sake of Agent Mikelson, while Panzer and Delilah stand too close to the edge of doom all too ready to give up on their humanity. The Oldest House twists and turns and responds to the monstrous agents, and we meet others trapped by the house who may have become willing prisoners. Shattered City (Session 1) Lowell Francis runs for Chris Newton, Daniel, Patrick Knowles, and Tyler Lominack We begin by creating characters for the world and houses we built in Session Zero. We then dive into the drives of various factions, unearth a fungal threat, and start to see a coming crisis over water and contamination. Hearts of Wulin: Hearts of Wulin vs the World Season 2 (Session 1) Jim Likes Games runs for Philip Rogers, Puckett, SalamanderJames, and Sawyer Rankin The Garage is for sale, and that's a problem for the punks, barristas, record store owners, and prepschool boys dreaming of going on the road, because it's the city's most formative music venue, and the crew isn't about to let it go. This is the tail end of our 'Zero Session' so it only goes an hour or so. Hearts of Wulin: Hearts of Wulin vs the World Season 2 (Session 2) Jim Likes Games runs for Puckett, SalamanderJames, and Sawyer Rankin With Jacob out of town for the day, the crew has a run-in with The Beverage Barn crew, a busload of American tourists, and...preppy douchebags. Free from the Yoke: Rokugan (Session 8 of 8) Lowell Francis runs for Patrick Knowles, Scot Ryder, Sherri, and Tyler Lominack Emperor Toturi's project comes to fruition, but that means almost nothing to our heroes who each face dramatic life changes and choices. Brinkwood: Refuge (Session 6) Jamila R. Nedjadi runs for Joel N. and Maria Mison In this session Mother Myrtle makes sure the bath house encourages a budding romance. Ashtarae struggles to express their emotions and come to terms with what their crystal heart wants. Ashitaka enjoys the comforts of the Refuge after a long journey in the forest. Together the three of them spend time in the sanctuary to gaze upon the moon, and a strange magic fills the Refuge... Gauntlet Campaigns Teenage Nightmare: Apocalypse High (Session 2) Jamila R. Nedjadi runs for Darold Ross and Leandro Pondoc In this session we learn that something strange is going on in Allentown. Video recordings of intimate moments that never happen haunt our characters and a mystery unfolds. Dex gets close to Dae Hyun in unexpected ways, Del finds a house of mirrors can be unexpectedly sexy, and Candace proves that she's willing to play the role of the devil in exchange for power. There's signs of the Inarta OPA terrorist group; a 'base-within-a-mine'; and MCRN involvement with Protogen...and cockroaches...giving off a strange blue fluorescent glow... Shattered City: Session Zero Lowell Francis runs for Chris Newton, Daniel H., Patrick Knowles, and Tyler Lominack In this set up session, we build the map of our fallen city--scars, havens, threats, and more--and discover which Houses will struggle to rebuild and gain control under the watchful eye of the Guilds. Brinkwood: Refuge (Session 5) Jamila R. Nedjadi runs for Ben, Daniel H., Joel N., and Josh Hittie We meet a new Warden, will Kian be able to make Mother Myrtle proud and plant the fragile seed in their care? Kian asks pointed questions about the heart trees, Mother Myrtle must say goodbye before she's ready, Solei gathers all for the Ritual of Masks. Meanwhile, Toland and Ashtarae must give it their all, as they enter a dangerous place of broken mirrors and blood red gold. In this session we are cozy as a rainy night, going in for full sadness. We all agreed at the end of this session that we need to have a well deserved bath house scene next session! The Pack (Session 1) Dan Brown facilitates for David Schultz, Jane, and Lowell Francis We meet Davey, Scallop, Oatmeal, and Sparky, four dogs who are all on vacation when the devastation -- The Never-ending Walk -- comes. They're several weeks in, having established their den at the local rec center. Sparky and Oatmeal raid one of the homes to get supplies, aided by local cat Marmalade. Davey and Scallop investigate the nearby woods, only to encounter the Big Bad living there. Offworlders: Dead Planet (Session 2) Mike Ferdinando runs for Brandon Brylawski, Jason Zanes, Kyle H., and usnavi The crew of the Stingray-12 encounter strange and dangerous aliens that suddenly appear aboard the derelict ship Alexis, and realize it has something to do with a weird alien statue in the cargo hold. Returning to their own ship, they find life signs on the dead planet's moon, but find out the hard way that they aren't particularly friendly. Tracing the source of the hyperspace anomaly to the only island of significance on the planet's surface, they enter the atmosphere... Gauntlet Campaigns Apocalypse Keys: The Ouroboros (Session 2) Jamila R. Nedjadi runs for Lowell Francis, Matthew Arcilla, Patrick Knowles, and Sherri We return to Manila, where a Manananggal community is in danger. Daya and Ashurdan visit a place sacred to the Manananggal, Atta barely keeps her powers in check as she destroys a threat, and Thorne is drawn closer to what the darkness demands of him. Will the team be able to understand the plans of the harbingers here and unlock doom's door? Teenage Nightmare: Apocalypse High (Session 1) Jamila R. Nedjadi facilitates for Darold Ross, Joel N., and Leandro Pondoc For this Apocalypse Keys AU this features the DIVISION team that includes Delilah the Shade, Vana the Fallen, and Panzer X the Summoned. They have been re-imagined here as Del Starke the Dead, Savannah the Vampire, Dex Montgomery the Visitor. And as the GM for Apocalypse Keys, I get to pick an NPC and make them my PC in Teenage Nightmare, yay for GM-less games! I made Candace Allen the Witch, based on the Creator of the Panzer series. Joske suffers a terrible defeat in the nightmare realm and tries to pick up the pieces in Vienna. Emilie accepts a dangerous kiss and pushes back on an assassination assignment. Jack embraces his knightly calling and claims an appropriate weapon. And Skye is ready to break all the rules to free herself from Dr. Thorne. Gauntlet Comics Masks: Back to School (Session 4 of 4) David Morrison runs for Pawel S., Rich Rogers, Steven S., and usnavi Knockback's father earns a reprieve when the truth of his kidnap plot is revealed, Buggane learns more about her family history and the danger that stalks her, Nightbolt goes in search of Leprechaun gold, and Cold Snap takes the lead against maybe the most powerful foe the team have faced yet. Gauntlet Hangouts Labyrinth the Adventure Game (Part 4, The Goblin City) David Walker runs for Donogh, Ozzy, and Sabine V. In the fourth and final part of our Labyrinth story Lily, Scraggle, and Squeek make their way to the Goblin castle to confront the goblin king and free Wanko from their clutches. Concludes with a roses and thorns debrief and our thoughts on the game. AGON: The Celtic Otherworld (Session 3 of 3) Alun R. runs for Alexi S., Sabine V., Sawyer Rankin, and Will H Journeying to the Rolling Hills of Fate, after their disappointments in the Mountains of Belief, the Heroes have to bolster the spirits of their warband before intervening in a village dispute. The shears used by The Three Sisters, the Fates, to cut the threads of mortals' lives have been stolen! While questioning the accused, the Heroes are whisked into the presence of the Sisters in the Hall of the Fates where Blacwyn Silver-Handed demands to now why the shears are so important and Iamon, Prince of Elmet, hears about the Cavern of Lost and Forgotten Dreams. Meanwhile, both Aethelflaed Lion-Hearted and Vecinda Man-Tamer attempt to tinker with Fates already woven. Seeking the shears among the discarded threads of Fate that create mesmerising images of lives that might have been: Iamon decides he is happier with the love he has than that which might have been; Vecinda protects Blacwyn from becoming lost among the threads of Fates unlived, while Blacwyn returns the favour; and Aethelflead seeks to grasp the shears from the back of her Wyrm. Then there is the familiar sounds of a musician's drum, parting mists and legends that will be told and re-told in times to come... Scary Monsters & Nice Sprites Donogh facilitates for Kyle H. and Steven S. A Werewolf, a Banshee and a Zombie walk into a club...not a joke! Join Rico, Cara & KARST as they rip it up at a Punk Rock gig and get it on! Apocalypse Keys: The Note Desolation Plays (Session 4 of 4) Leandro Pondoc runs for Brandon Brylawski, Jim Likes Games, Sabine V., and SalamanderJames After tumultuous events in Dublin, our monsters reconvene at DIVISION headquarters atop Dover's charming cliffs to rest, re-energize and recover some time between them. Anther pays a visit to an orphanage dear to her, Hope nurses a wound caused by a friend, Cameron reckons with failing the DIVISION and Shard gains a ghastly eye. Karanduun: Make God Bleed (Session 4) Lowell Francis runs for Jane, Maria Mison, Puckett, and Will The group deals with their personal growth and new powers following the shattering of Order of the Justified Patriarch. But a new threat to devastate their neighborhood forces them in the underworld in a challenge which will test and destroy their bonds of trust. Cartel: Welcome to Durango (Session 4 of 4) David Morrison runs for Pawel S., Rich Rogers, Steven S., and Will H In our finale Elena puts her plan into motion, Angelina has to decide who she can trust, Juan gets dragged further into the drug war, and Abel struggles to hold onto his life and his position. Death stalks the streets of Durango, and not everyone will make it out alive. Free from the Yoke: Rokugan (Session 7) Lowell Francis runs for Patrick Knowles, Scot Ryder, Sherri, and Tyler Lominack The fortunes of the Unicorn shift as the blessings of the Ki-Rin arrive in the wake of tragedies. But pain and heartbreak still await all of our heroes as betrayal, jealousy, and love cut them deeply. Brinkwood: Refuge (Session 4) Jamila R. Nedjadi runs for Daniel H., Joel N., Josh, and Sherri In this session Solei the Keeper joins us! This opens up the Shrine in the refuge too! And lots of great Masks stuff, which is an important aspect of the original Brinkwood game. The group gathers to discuss what will be done about the vampire artifacts and their encroaching influence on the Refuge. Solei delivers a terrible omen, moving everyone to act quickly. What is the group willing to do to learn more about the vampire threat? Who will make a sacrifice no one should have to make? Offworlders: Dead Planet (Session 1 of 4) Mike Ferdinando runs for Brandon Brylawski, Jason Zanes, Kyle H., and usnavi While on a routine corporate courier run, the blockade runner Stingray-12 lurched out of hyperspace near a planet in an uncharted red dwarf star system. Scanners showed a ghost fleet of dozens, if not hundreds, of derelict spacecraft in orbit: Only one showed an active energy signature. The crew boarded the archaeological research vessel Alexis only to find signs of violence and a stack of corpses...and two semifunctional androids who'd had large sections of their memory cores erased. And that's when the...things...showed up...
